Wondrous item, uncommon

You must be proficient with wind instruments to use these pipes. You can use an action to play them and expend 1 charge to create an eerie, spellbinding tune. Each creature within 30 feet of you that hears you play must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you for 1 minute. A frightened creature has disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls while the source of its fear is within line of sight. The creature can’t willingly move closer to the source of its fear.

If you wish, all creatures in the area that aren’t hostile toward you automatically succeed on the saving throw. A creature that fails the saving throw can repeat it at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. A creature that succeeds on its saving throw is immune to the effect of these pipes for 24 hours.

The pipes have 3 charges. They regain 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn.

This pan flute is crafted of old, yellowed bones. It weighs 2 pounds. The back of each of the seven pipes is engraved with the image of a skull and a single word in an unknown language. The seven pipes each have a distinct personality, and they mutter words of warning for the bearer, granting him or her a +2 bonus to initiative. At night, when the bearer is alone, the pipes each complain about how they were killed. This instrument is cold to the touch. (Undead, Sinister, Guardian, Muttering)

This is an evil magic item.
